ChatGPT Exporter alternative without the 3 PDFs per day limit
Short answer: use Pressleaf. It saves ChatGPT conversations as clean PDFs with no daily limit, no watermark and no account — every turn labelled, code, tables and math kept. Today, paste the chat into the free Chat to PDF web tool and press Save as PDF; the Pressleaf Chrome extension (coming to the Chrome Web Store) does it in one click from the chat, on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. ChatGPT Exporter’s free plan allows 3 PDFs a day; Pressleaf has no count, because Chrome makes each PDF on your own computer.
Save a ChatGPT chat as PDF, no daily limit
- Open the ChatGPT conversation in your browser.
- Click anywhere in the conversation, then press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C (⌘ on a Mac).
- Open the free Chat to PDF tool and paste. Each message appears in the preview, labelled “You” or “ChatGPT”.
- Press Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF in the print window. Repeat for as many chats as you like — there is no daily count.

What the PDF looks like
- A title, then every turn in order, labelled You or ChatGPT — no sidebar, message box or buttons.
- Code blocks with their language name, wrapped so long lines are not cut off; tables with their columns; math as formulas.
- Dark text on a white page, even if you use ChatGPT in dark mode.
- Selectable, searchable text — the browser’s print engine makes the PDF, not a screenshot.
- Paper size (US Letter or A4), with or without images and the You / ChatGPT labels.

One click from the chat: the Pressleaf extension
Click the Pressleaf icon on a ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini conversation (or press Alt+Shift+P). It picks Chat mode, collects every turn — scrolling through long chats so nothing is left out — and opens a clean copy in a new tab with Chrome’s print window. Save Markdown gives you a text copy. Free has no daily limit. Pro ($19 once or $9 / year) only saves time: it skips the print window and saves straight to Downloads, saves every open tab at once, adds headers and footers, and names files your way.

Questions
What is ChatGPT Exporter’s free PDF limit?
Its pricing page lists “3 PDFs / day” on the free plan, 30 a day on Starter ($1.99/month, billed yearly) and 100 a day on Standard ($2.99/month, billed yearly). Its store listing says Markdown, Text, JSON and CSV exports are always free.
Why can Pressleaf be unlimited for free?
Pressleaf has no conversion server. Chrome’s own print engine makes the PDF on your computer, so a PDF costs nothing to produce and there is nothing to ration.
Do free Pressleaf PDFs have a watermark?
No. The extension adds no watermark or branding. The Chat to PDF web tool offers an optional “Made with Pressleaf” line at the end; untick it and the PDF has none.
Does it keep code blocks, tables and math?
Yes. Code blocks keep their language name and wrap instead of being cut off, tables keep their columns, and math is shown as formulas. Text stays selectable and searchable.
Does it work for Claude and Gemini too?
Yes. The extension recognises ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini conversations. See save a Claude conversation as PDF and save a Gemini conversation as PDF.
Can I save a whole chat history at once?
Pressleaf saves one conversation per PDF. To pick from all of them, request ChatGPT’s Export data, open conversations.json in Chat to PDF, search by title and save any conversation — as many as you want.
I need CSV, JSON or image exports. Is Pressleaf right for me?
Pressleaf saves PDF and Markdown. If you need CSV, JSON or image exports, ChatGPT Exporter’s store listing lists those formats.
Is my conversation uploaded?
No. Chat to PDF runs in your browser and the page is not allowed to make network requests. The extension makes the PDF with Chrome on your computer; the only thing it sends us is a random ID to check a Pro license.
