How do I save a Gemini conversation as PDF?

Updated · Google export steps checked 2026-10-08

Short answer: open the chat on gemini.google.com, click Pressleaf (or press Alt+Shift+P) and press Save as PDF. Pressleaf recognises Gemini, collects the whole conversation — older messages included — and lays it out as a clean document: each turn labelled You or Gemini, code, tables and math kept, dark text on white. Chrome then saves it as a PDF with selectable text. Free, no daily limit, no watermark. Can’t install extensions? Paste the chat into the free Chat to PDF tool.

Step by step

  1. Open the conversation on gemini.google.com in Chrome.
  2. Click the Pressleaf icon (or press Alt+Shift+P). It recognises Gemini and selects Chat mode.
  3. Press Save as PDF. Pressleaf collects every turn — older messages included — and opens a clean copy in a new tab, labelled You and Gemini.
  4. In Chrome’s print window choose Save as PDF. Pressleaf Pro skips this window and saves straight to Downloads.

Gemini’s own export, and when to use it

Google’s help article “Export responses from Gemini Apps” covers exporting a single response: click Share & export below it, then Export to Docs to save a new doc in Google Drive, or Draft in Gmail. Tables have an Export to Sheets button. Good for one answer you want to edit; for the whole back-and-forth as one PDF, use Pressleaf.

Questions

Does Gemini have a built-in PDF export?

Not for a whole chat. Google’s help article “Export responses from Gemini Apps” describes exporting a response: below it, click Share & export → Export to Docs (a new doc in Google Drive) or Draft in Gmail, and tables can go to Sheets. That works one response at a time.

Will a long Gemini chat be cut off?

No. Gemini loads older messages as you scroll up. Pressleaf scrolls the conversation for you, loads the older turns first, collects every turn once and in order, then puts your scroll position back.

Will the PDF be dark if I use Gemini in dark mode?

No. Pressleaf switches Gemini to its light theme while saving and switches it back afterwards; the clean copy is printed as dark text on white.

Are code blocks, tables and math kept?

Yes. Code blocks keep their spacing and wrap instead of being cut off, tables keep their columns, and math is shown as formulas. Text stays selectable and searchable.

Can I do it without the extension?

Yes. Copy the chat (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C) and paste it into the free Chat to PDF tool. When the copied page keeps Gemini’s message structure, or the text has “You:” / “Gemini:” labels, each turn is labelled; otherwise the chat is kept as one clean block you can still save as PDF.

Is there a daily limit or a watermark?

No. Pressleaf is free with no daily limit, no watermark and no account.

Is my conversation uploaded?

No. Chrome makes the PDF on your computer. Pressleaf reads the page only after you click it.
