Save web pages and AI chats as clean PDFs: Pressleaf for Chrome
The Pressleaf extension saves any web page without ads and pop-ups — or the open ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini conversation — as a clean PDF in one click. Free, with no daily limit.
Coming to the Chrome Web Store About the extensionHow to convert Markdown to PDF
- Add your Markdown. Paste it into the box, or open or drop a
.mdfile — a README, your notes, or an answer copied from an AI chat. - Check the preview. Headings, lists, tables, code and math appear as they will print. The title comes from the first heading; change it if you like.
- Save. Press Save as PDF and pick “Save as PDF” in the print window.
What stays intact
- Code blocks keep indentation and the language name; long lines wrap in the PDF instead of being cut off.
- Tables keep their columns; on long tables the header row repeats on every page.
- Math written in LaTeX is shown as real formulas.
- Any language: your browser’s own fonts print Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and other scripts correctly.
Saving a ChatGPT or Claude conversation instead? Use Chat to PDF: it labels each message and also reads ChatGPT and Claude data exports.
Questions
Is my Markdown uploaded anywhere?
No. The Markdown is turned into a document in your browser, and this page’s security policy blocks every network request from the tool, so it cannot send your text anywhere. The PDF is made by your browser’s own print engine.
Which Markdown does it support?
GitHub-flavored Markdown: headings, bold and italic, links, images, block quotes, ordered and bullet lists, task lists, tables and fenced code blocks with a language name. Math between $…$, $$…$$, \(…\) or \[…\] is shown as real formulas.
Will long code lines or wide tables be cut off?
No. In the PDF, long code lines wrap instead of running off the page, and on long tables the header row repeats at the top of every page.
Can I choose A4 or US Letter?
Yes. Pick the paper size before you press Save as PDF. “Automatic” uses your printer’s default. The title you type becomes the PDF file name.
Is it really free? Is there a watermark?
Free, with no limit, no sign-up and no watermark. By default one small “Made with Pressleaf” line is added at the very end of the document; untick Add “Made with Pressleaf” line at the end before saving and it is gone.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Paste the Markdown or open the file, then tap Save as PDF: your phone’s print screen opens, where you can save or share the PDF.
